In France, millions of people suffer microagressions and stigmatization daily. They see their opportunities for social advancement hindered, their life expectancy decreased. Based on an unprecedented survey in several working-class neighborhoods in France, the United Kingdom and North America, this study analyzes the consequences of the denial of discrimination: depression, exile, a withdrawal into oneself. In the face of this silent drama that occurs before us, the book stands as an invitation to collective awareness.
